Mmmm, nothing beats some little sausage links tucked under a blanket of store bought crescent roll bread for a quick and filling breakfast.  Beats cereals on most any day.

Let's get started...

Ingredients are simple enough... crescent rolls (suggest NOT getting flaky kind, just standard), Li'l Smokies (or Li'l Polskas like I did here work great), cheese (optional)

pig_00

Open up the can of crescent rolls and lay them out

pig_01

 Take an individual triangle

pig_02

Slice it in half (when you first do it, it seems like an odd angle, but it'll work out)

pig_03

Take your Li'l whatevers you want to use (I'm going to try some actual breakfast sausage one day and not just these little link things)

pig_04

Get some cheese (optional, and if you do this, I would suggest cutting a bit smaller, you'll see)

pig_05

Place cheese as shown (again, optional, and make it smaller, by about half of what you see here)

pig_06

Place your Li'l piggy right on top

pig_07

Roll up and place on a pan (follow roll directions for any spray on pan or not)

pig_08

Wanna see it again without the cheese?

I thought so...

Start with 1/2 a triangle and your pig

pig_09

Lay the piggy down for a nap

pig_10

Tuck the piggy in to bed

pig_11

 Ta-da!

pig_12

Place with point under the pig (I don't know why, I bet they wouldn't unravel)

pig_13

Place in a pre-heated oven and bake (per the crescent roll directions)

pig_14

See, the cheese was too big in this little piggies blanket... it's optional, but again, use a smaller chunk than what you saw earlier... unless you like all of the cheese melted out and sitting slightly burnt on the pan.

pig_15

OK, you know you want some close-ups... here we go...

pig_16

  Ooohhh....

pig_17

  Aahhhh....

pig_18

  Yummmm....

pig_19

I should have stopped with those above... but I was curious...

What would it do if I used the full crescent roll and two links?

pig_20

While it tastes all the same, the bread expands in the middle and aided by the cheese, the pigs get poked out the sides... pretty much creating a mess... bread in the middle, pigs on the ends and cheese on the pan.  Yep, definately got greedy.

Don't care for crescent roll bread?  No problem... I've got some biscuit dough in the refrigerator waiting to see how biscuit pigs work out.
